Lower-priced machines can be a good fit when the required envelope is modest
The Mayflower 560 is a useful example of why a lower tire changer price is not automatically a problem. The current Mayflower specifications publish a 10–18 inch outside-clamp range, 12–21 inch inside-clamp range, 35-inch maximum tire diameter and 12-inch published wheel width. Shop utilities can change the real value of a “cheap” tire machine
A 110 V tire machine can look easier to place in a small shop, but electrical voltage is only one utility requirement. Atlas TC229 combines 110 V power with a published 90–110 PSI operating range. The dedicated Weaver W-M807X motorcycle/ATV changer is also 110 V, yet publishes 150–175 PSI and 5 CFM. Mayflower’s current changers publish 120–145 PSI. A buyer who ignores air supply can discover an infrastructure cost after the machine arrives.
