Motorcycle Wheel Balancer Adapters: Match the Shaft, Clamp and Balancer
A wheel balancer can have a motorcycle program and still need separate hardware to center and support the wheel. Match the adapter kit to the exact balancer, then check the kit’s shaft, hub-width and center-hole limits instead of assuming a shared shaft diameter guarantees fit.
The physical adapter matters as much as the balancing mode
Automotive balancers normally center a wheel through cones, collets or other hardware intended for car and light-truck hubs. Motorcycle wheels can be narrower, use different center bores and need a long shaft or dedicated clamp to support the assembly. A menu option labeled motorcycle does not supply that hardware.
For that reason, treat the motorcycle adapter part number as a separate requirement from the balancer’s general diameter, width and weight limits.
Current documented motorcycle balancing kits
Atlas
Standard and extra-large motorcycle kits
Atlas ATEATWB-MCKIT is the standard motorcycle kit for Atlas passenger/light-truck computer balancers. Atlas publishes up to 9.25 inches of hub width and a 14–31.75 mm center-hole range.
ATEATWB-MCXLTKT expands the path for larger motorcycle hubs, with a published 19–38.1 mm center-hole range and up to 11 inches of hub width before the separately available extension-nut path.
KATOOL
KT-MC2 is explicitly tied to KT-B700 and KT-B760
KATOOL currently documents KT-MC2 for KT-B700 and KT-B760 wheel balancers. That supports the KT-B700 motorcycle-adapter path.
The current source does not list KT-B750, so a similar KATOOL model name or shaft size is not used as proof of compatibility.
Hunter
ProBike 20-3602-2 requires the right shaft configuration
Hunter’s ProBike kit includes motorcycle centering and clamping hardware and publishes a 27.5-inch maximum assembly diameter. Hunter says the kit requires a removable shaft and works with DS05, SWP, or balancers with the SpeedClamp option.
The site therefore treats the SmartWeight Pro path as configuration-dependent rather than saying every Hunter balancer accepts ProBike.
Weaver W-937-40 / W-957-40
W-MJ II kit is the starting point
Weaver publishes W-TB-M-0900000L for W-937-40 and W-957-40. The larger W-TB-M-0430000 shaft kit is a second-stage option and requires the motorcycle wheel clamp from the W-MJ II kit.
That dependency matters: the large-shaft kit is not a complete standalone motorcycle setup by itself.
Weaver W-987
W-TB-M-0900000A uses a model-specific W-MJ II path
Weaver publishes W-TB-M-0900000A for the W-987. The same larger 40 mm W-MJ I shaft path can be used with the W-987 when paired with the required clamp from the W-MJ II setup.
This is why matching only “40 mm balancer” is not enough; the clamp and shaft kit relationship also matters.
Ranger
Confirm 5150320 before using it on DST2420X
Ranger’s current DST2420X page recommends motorcycle shaft kit 5150320. However, Ranger’s current accessory page says that kit fits DST-2420 and DST-64T units equipped with a 36 mm shaft.
The current DST2420X specification lists a 1.5-inch shaft, so exact 5150320 fit should be confirmed with Ranger before ordering.
Three measurements are easy to confuse
Balancer shaft diameter describes the machine’s main shaft. Motorcycle adapter shaft diameter describes the shaft or spindle supplied with the accessory kit. Wheel center-hole range describes the wheel geometry that the adapter’s cones or collets can center. Those numbers can be related, but they are not interchangeable.
A kit can also have a maximum hub width or overall assembly diameter that becomes the limiting factor even when the center bore fits.
Choose the standard or large kit from the wheels you actually service
For a shop that sees ordinary motorcycle hubs, the manufacturer’s standard motorcycle kit may cover the needed center-hole and hub-width range. Wider hubs, large center bores or specialty wheels can require an extended or large-shaft kit.
Do not buy the larger kit simply because it sounds more capable. Some systems depend on parts from the standard kit, and a larger range does not guarantee that a specific wheel can be centered correctly.
Confirm the balancer model, shaft and wheel range first. A marketplace listing does not establish adapter compatibility by itself.
Motorcycle shafts are only one kind of balancer centering hardware
For passenger, light-truck and larger hub-centric wheels, see wheel balancer cones and collets. Motorcycle shaft kits remain a separate accessory path with their own clamps, cones and center-hole ranges.

Match the motorcycle hardware to the exact balancer
Check the balancer model, shaft configuration, adapter part number, center-hole range and hub-width limit together. If the manufacturer’s current sources disagree, confirm the part before purchase rather than relying on a retailer title.
Is a motorcycle balancing mode enough to balance a motorcycle wheel?
No. A software mode does not physically center and hold the wheel. The balancer still needs the correct shaft, clamp, cone or collet setup for the motorcycle wheel.
Which KATOOL balancers does KT-MC2 fit?
KATOOL currently lists KT-B700 and KT-B760 for the KT-MC2 motorcycle wheel adapter. The current source used here does not list KT-B750.
